advanced hand rolling classes

Watching the greats like Freya doing the Greenland rolls makes it look easy as pie, but when you get in the kayak and begin to try  then you find out that its not as easy as it looks.
It is a lot of fun trying  and eventually we get it right
. I can see that I need more flexibility and to get my back on the back deck...ha ha ha

Nice piece. This is meant to be helpful: Who ever is in that wood boat seems to miss his roll each time he tries to sit up too soon.Notice how the teacher finishes lying on the back deck. On another note, it is generally considered poor form to cup the end of the stick with the hand.

Thanks Silbs, its me in the wood, and yes I know but its hard to lay back on the deck. Don`t worry, Helen Wilson is coming to our symposium in Oct to give us a few lessons so there should be a big improvement after.

Actually, I thought you were back very well. I bet Helen will tell you (as she did me) to finish the roll on the back in the water, then slide on deck, then sit up. Of course, she is younger than us:)
She's great and has that wonderful ability to watch and diagnose problems. She helped me at the last QAJAQ camp. Linda and I have been talking about getting over there. I have a heavy teaching schedule and it couldn't happen until next year, but we talk about it...and that's how things eventually happen.

Steve- One of your best!!! Loved it! I'm sure by the time Helen gets here you will show all the young(er) ones that age has little to do with it (it being....rolling). At least in your case. Good on ya!
